Places to See in Istanbul: Part 3
Sunmaster has a huge range of cheap holidays to destinations all over the world. Resorts in the Mediterranean such as Spain, Greece and Turkey are incredibly popular over the summer months, as it’s at this time you can expect the warmest, sunniest weather there. In the winter the attention shifts to destinations which are further afield, such as Egypt, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Whichever time of year you choose to fly, it’s best to be flexible with your departure dates. That way, it’ll be much easier for you to find cheap flights around the date you were considering. The choice of hotels is often larger than the choice of flights, so you should have no problem finding cheap accommodation for your holiday.
The Princes Islands are an excellent day trip destination in Istanbul, Turkey. Locals usually retreat for picnics or a break from their hectic schedules while tourists visit them for beach side attraction and fun. The Princes Islands, lying within the Sea of Marmara, are just 20 kms to the south east of the city.
I found this fact really interesting that these islands are named so because they served as the place of exile for disgraced princes in the past. These islands are a collection of nine islands, Buvukada also known as the ‘Great Island’ being the largest. These islands are well connected through ferry rides which provide the view of the main city.
I enjoyed the ferry ride a lot since moving away from the busy and crowded city was an amazing experience. The natural beauty of these islands and the sight of the elegant, wooden mansions can be enjoyed on horse carriages as they are the only means of transportation available for tourists.
The other attractions of the place include the Victorian villages and hilltop chapels, dating back to the long and exciting history of Turkey. The monastery of St. George’s at the top of the Buyukada Island’s peak should not be missed. The best part about these islands is their tranquillity, peace and quietness which provide a much-needed break to those visiting Istanbul during the holidays.
Currently, Sunmaster is offering lots of cheap holidays to Turkey. As a holiday destination, Turkey has grown rapidly over the past few years. In fact, if the current trend continues, it’s even set to take over Spain as the No1 European holiday destination for the British. There are a number of good reasons for its ever-increasing popularity: Firstly, the exchange rate in Turkey is excellent, and offers far better value for money than the Euro currency used in other holiday destinations like Spain, Greece and Portugal. Secondly, the weather is very warm in the summer; in fact it’s one of the sunniest countries in the Mediterranean. And lastly, there’s a wonderful mix of culture, history and beaches that give real variety to all holidays to Turkey.
